Smoke Barriers: Effective Way to Rheostat Smoke

Smoke barriers are an important part of a precautionary smoke removal model. Smoke barriers are also known as smoke aprons which are fitted according to the conditions prevailing in the local area. Automatic smoke barriers effectively limit diffusion of smoke across an area and conduit the smoke in a predefined direction. Harmless escape directions and better firefighting can be guaranteed this way because these measures prevent the fire from getting filled in the room. Smoke barriers enhance the efficiency of smoke removal system and act towards dividing space during mechanical smoke extraction. Smoke barriers meet the most demanding architectural requirements because they associate with the ceiling structure. It also gives invisible fire protection which means the vision is not hampered during a fire as it controls the smoke. You can also get customized smoke barriers which will comply with the conditions of your smoke extraction model.

Types of Smoke Barriers

  • Super Coil Model: it is standard automatic smoke barriers which comply with high standards of large sized areas. You can choose the closing direction, shape, and size of the barrier. It is available with or without guide rails and fulfills severe requirements such as zero percent residual opening.
  • Moducoil Model: it is a standard smoke barrier in an integrated design. The individual assembled segments are joined together to create a complete smoke barrier unit. Having a width of more than 6 meters the segments overlap making it possible to expand moducoil to any size with or without guide rails. Moducoils safety boundaries, housing components, and guide rails are available in a variety of colors. They are mostly designed with stainless steel and they are completely heat resistant.
  • Stripe Coil Model: it is a smoke barrier that ends even with the floor and people can pass through such barriers. It is particularly suitable for a route where many people, prams, baby buggies, and wheelchairs will have to pass through in case of fire. They are perfect for residential and commercial areas, and you can easily install such barriers in your shops, warehouse, shopping malls, and offices.
  • Smoke shield S Model: it is a polygon shape automatic smoke barrier for large areas, escalators or reception desk. This smoke barrier partitions off-space and is particularly suited for large areas and challenging situations.
  • Rolling Smoke Barriers: in this smoke barrier steel plate is used to cover assimilated rollers which are trundled out with fire impervious material. In case of fire, these will trundle down and control the smoke.
  • Rigid Smoke: this is a permanent smoke control system attached from the ceiling of the hall till half the height of the hall. Fire impervious material is put on the ceiling and the building walls. Specialist installs Cable routes and supply lines which help in preventing smoke spread during a fire.

Why Would You Install the Smoke Barriers?

When a building catches fire then the smoke reduces visibility making it difficult for people to move in the right direction to exit the building, it makes it difficult for people to breathe which can make them unconscious hence making it difficult for them to escape the building and also it creates difficulty for the fire team to rescue people within the time from the building. To avoid this situation smoke barriers are used to control smoke for a long time and helping people to escape from the building safely.

Smoke barriers help in buildings smoke compartments in buildings where there are no smoke compartments for the rescue of people in case of smoke. It also stops heat spread to extensive ceiling and roof areas which could be rapidly damaged due to fire.
