  • To increase potassium content in one’s rose plant, one should burry banana peels under the rose plant as banana has high potassium content. But the banana peels are broken down by micro-organisms they take up a lot of nitrogen from the soil thus making the soil deficit of nitrogen so banana peels should be buried in the compost pile where all types of nutrients are available then this compost should be used as fertilizers.
  • If the soil of one’s garden area is of clay then one should add sand to the soil as it helps in retention of water. But it is seen that as sand have large space it is filled up with water and no change is observed thus one should use compost to help in the retention of water in the clayey soil.
  • One should sprinkle coffee grounds all around soil as coffee is believed to be a natural acidifier of the soil. and affects the pH of the soil. But the truth is that fresh coffee grounds are able to reduce the growth of the plants as it ties with the nitrogen of the soil and reduces the nitrogen content of the soil. Thus without using a nitrogen deficiency material one should use sulfur based soil acidifier that will affect the soil pH.
  • If one observes that their tree is dying one tries to use fertilizer to save the tree but it is not the correct way. One should try to understand why the plant is dying. A lot of factors can contribute to the death of the plant like it may not be getting sufficient nutrients or water or is attacked by a pest or is suffering for some kind of damage. So adding mere fertilizer to the soil will not be able to save a dying plant.
  • It is said that baking soda is able to cure black spots on the tree leaves. But baking soda is quite effective for powdery mildew plants but baking soda is not effective for black spots. There are many remedies for the removal of black spots one of them is spraying foliage once a week.
